First look at Official Starships Collection USS Vengeance and other new ships

Lots of updates from the The Official Starships Collection below. Starting with a first look at the third over-sized special issue, the USS Vengeance:

Entertainment Earth posted the image, and also a description which hints at things we can look forward to in the magazine:

This special Star Trek Starships Collection Vehicle is one of the biggest and baddest Starfleet vessels ever designed - the U.S.S. Vengeance, the villainous warship that played a starring role in 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness. This oversized model has been produced at a larger size to reflect the huge size of the Vengeance and is nearly 8 1/2-inches long. Every detail of this heavily armed ship has been carefully reproduced with careful reference to the original CG model created by ILM. The accompanying magazine explores the design process and includes never-seen-before concept artwork and all new interviews with the Vengeance's creators.

Entertainment Earth have this listed for March release, but it will be out in the UK first. The Vengeance was listed alongside regular issues coming out in December in the UK, so I would guess this special issue should be out by the year's end too.

Those regular issues also give us first and/or new looks at forthcoming models, issues thirty-five to thirty-seven, the 22nd century Klingon Bird of Prey, the Oberth class USS Grissom, and the Andorian cruiser Kumari. I think the image processing might have been a bit off in these images, so I would imagine the final colours wont be quite so vivid!

The series manager, Ben Robinson, posted a new behind-the-scenes photo on The Collection's Facebook page. We have here the first look at the Olympic class USS Pasteur, and Excelsior class refit USS Enterprise-B, plus a very early-stages prototype of the original USS Enterprise, and another look at the Oberth class USS Grissom.


Ben also posted a comparison image of the Enterprise-B, and previously released USS Excelsior, showing how they are quite different models:


Meanwhile over on The Collection's website, there are a couple of new images, showing model and cover images of October issues (in the UK), the Valdore, and the Danube class runabout USS Orinoco (which the cover identifies simply as "The Runabout"):



German retailer X-Comics have released a higher resolution version of the previously seen image of the Nausicaan fighter, which is also set for release in October. This image gives us a good look at the details of the model, but like some of the images up page, I think the colours are probably off; more recent images of the ship have had a more bronze-finish.


Finally, some subscribers were recently sent a survey to gauge interest in new binder designs to keep the magazines in. The survey offered three different designs featuring alien ships, which you can see below (I wont link to the survey itself, so not to bias Eaglemoss's targeted market research):



Oh, and one more thing... Don't forget, if you want to see the USS Titan in The Collection, you need to add your name to the USS Titan petition - Ben Robinson has stated that if five-thousand people willing to pre-order can be found, then a special issue will be made. So we just need to find those Titan fans; if you've already signed, please help spread the word too.
